History of the ALCAR Group
The ALCAR Group was founded  in the early summer months of 1984 under its previous 
name "BBV Beteiligungs GmbH". The company originally focused on distributing steel
wheels in Austria, as well as commissioning steel wheel production from the KROMAG
company in Hirtenberg.
In the subsequent years the company has undergone successive expansion phases:
1988 Acquisition of the activities of KROMAG AG and their integration
into the newly established KROMAG Metallindustrie GmbH; 
expansion of our activities to include the manufacture and
distribution of steel cabinets

1988-1994

Development of a distribution network throughout Europe;
acquisition of distribution companies in the automotive wheel
aftermarket in Austria, Sweden, Great Britain and Hungary
1995 Acquisition of the alloy wheel brand AEZ; establishment of the 
German ALCAR distribution company; acquisition of wheel
activities of Switzerland's E. Ambrosetti & Söhne AG and
its integration into the newly founded Ambrosetti Räder AG

1997-1999

Expansion of our distribution network to the Dutch, Belgian and 
Danish, as well as the Czech and Polish markets
2002 Purchase of 50% share in the alloy wheel manufacturer Schmidt
(renamed AEZ Produktion GmbH) with today two sites in Germany;
100% acquisition of the alloy wheel brand DEZENT
2003 Entrance of our holding company and our national distribution
companies onto the market under the joint name ALCAR
2004 Expansion of our distribution network to the Italian and Russian markets
2005 Opening of AEZ Produktion GmbH's new alloy wheel production 
site in Neuenrade, Germany
2006 Acquisition of an additional 50% share in AEZ Produktion GmbH 

2007

Acquistion of an additonal 50% share in the Russian distribution company
AVVIT Ltd. (today ALCAR Rus) in Moscow

2008

Formation of ALCAR ASIA PACIFIC Pte. Ltd. in Singapore
